M42 Consortium Meeting
On 23–24 June 2026, partners of the Carbon4Minerals project gathered in Trondheim, Norway, for a two-day consortium meeting hosted by SINTEF and NTNU. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to review overall project progress, exchange technical insights, and further strengthen collaboration across the consortium.
The first day opened with a project status update, followed by partner presentations focused on recent developments, ongoing activities, and progress across key technical areas. Throughout the day, partners engaged in discussions, shared expertise, and aligned on the next steps needed to advance the project’s work on CO₂ mineralisation, industrial residues, and low-carbon construction materials.
A key part of the programme was the visit to SINTEF and NTNU laboratory facilities, including the Zero Emission Building Laboratory, building and construction laboratories, cement and mortar facilities, the Frost laboratory, and chemistry and instrument laboratories. The visits offered partners direct insight into the research infrastructure supporting the development, testing, and validation of Carbon4Minerals solutions. The day concluded with a session dedicated to communication, dissemination, exploitation, co-learning, and standardisation, followed by a working dinner in Trondheim, providing space for further exchange in an informal setting.
On the second day, the meeting continued with discussions on technical progress, project coordination, and upcoming activities. Partners also visited the NTNU/SINTEF concrete and mechanical laboratories, gaining further insight into the experimental work and testing facilities contributing to the project. For those staying in Trondheim a little longer, the programme continued with an optional hike in the surroundings of the city, joined by some of the partners, offering a pleasant opportunity to enjoy the local landscape and continue informal exchanges.
The Carbon4Minerals consortium would like to thank SINTEF and NTNU for hosting the meeting and all partners for their active participation and valuable contributions. The discussions in Trondheim represented another important step forward in the project’s collective effort to transform CO₂ emissions and industrial residues into added-value construction products.
