Carbon4Minerals at Norwegian Concrete Day 2025
In October 2025, the Carbon4Minerals project was showcased at Norwegian Concrete Day in Trondheim, providing a strong platform for disseminating project-related research and engaging with stakeholders from across the concrete and construction sector.
As part of the technical programme, Carbon4Minerals was presented by Prof. Klaartje De Weerdt from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), a project partner. The presentation focused on research related to CO₂ mineralisation, the use of alternative and recycled supplementary cementitious materials, and their contribution to low-carbon and climate-positive concrete. Particular attention was given to material performance, durability, and the role of carbonation in enabling CO₂ uptake within concrete systems
The wider event programme addressed several topics closely aligned with the Carbon4Minerals ambition, including low-carbon concrete, future concrete technologies, and the translation of research results into practical construction applications. These discussions reinforced the relevance of the Carbon4Minerals approach in the broader transition towards more sustainable construction materials.
Norwegian Concrete Day remains an important forum for knowledge exchange within the concrete community, bringing together research and industry perspectives on current and future challenges in the sector.
